Who knew public libraries were based on creating addicts and pushing citizens into deeper personal debt

by Les

maine-campaign-mailer-2011 When you are promoting a failed public policy, deceit and dishonesty represent your only way to win and it is all made possible by spending millions of dollars to spread a phony narrative.

maine-campaign-ad-uses-public-library-image-to-deceive-voters-into-supporting-predatory-gambling-2011 This explains why as Maine attempts repel the sixth campaign in twelve years to allow more predatory gambling in the state, casino interests are now defending the latest of countless deceitful and dishonest tactics they have used to win both legislative efforts and referendum campaigns all over the country.

In order to lure voters into supporting Question 2 – a referendum that would allow slot machines at racetracks- casino operators used images of the local public library even though the proposal in no way, shape or form is going to benefit public libraries in the state.

Local officials worry the photograph on campaign material advocating a yes vote on Question 2 suggests the library endorses the proposal, or would somehow benefit if it passes- and that was exactly the casino operators’ intent.

  1. Lies Come Easily From This Crowd.

Already knowing that their product produces over half of its income from out-of-control gamblers, what’s a lie now and then. Accepting the fact that you live on blood money makes it much easier to commit smaller depradations like lying. What a cold-blooded industry.
