What exactly are the “values” of a casino company?

The Omaha World-Herald ran a story over the weekend about the new general manager at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The casino is just over the state border from Omaha.

The story said the new GM looks “for consistency in management philosophy and values in a casino company” and he liked what he saw about Ameristar.

So Mr. New GM, what does it say about Ameristar’s values when just last year it helped fund a $15 million campaign in Missouri to repeal the state’s $500 -in-two-hours loss limit, including doing away with the cards that track gamblers’ expenditures?

It says Ameristar’s values are greed, deceit and exploitation. What is there to like about that?
