How can any reasonable person, from whatever place on the political spectrum they may reside, say that providing police escorts for a product that relies on out-of-control and heavily indebted people for most of its revenue is in the public interest?
No issue better symbolizes the weakening health of our democracy than state-sponsored predatory gambling. Yet at the same time, by stopping the practice of predatory gambling no issue provides a better opportunity for us to reaffirm our nation’s core democratic principles.
It’s up to us to fix it.
