Students protest against the government’s policy of promoting slot machines

Students at Otago Polytechnic challenged the government policy of predatory gambling during what they called a “down-to-earth” demonstration. They were particularly interested in highlighting electronic gambling machines, the most extreme form of predatory gambling because they are highly addictive and play a major role in pushing citizens into deeper debt.     Clever idea. We need to do more of this kind of thing in the U.S.

    As the movement against the failed policy of predatory gambling continues to grow, I think you’ll see a lot more protest, especially by students. Savannah College of Art would be a good place to start.

    Maybe in the fall

    School is out for the summer but the fall would be possible. I think there is an appetite to bring change here on this issue.
